AKC Agility Titling Information
Greta's Open Gym
Also available to anyone enrolled in classes at Greta's Gym, you can schedule any Open Gym time Monday - Friday from 8 AM until 5 PM by calling ahead! Just another great reason to take your dog training classes at Greta's Gym.
$15 per hour.
Plus, when you take any class from Greta’s Gym, you can purchase 8 (eight) hours of Open Gym time for the price of 4 (four)! A $120 value for $60!

What is "Open Gym"?
Open Gym is scheduled time on our calendar each month! It is a time for you and your dog to come and "play and/or train". We have agility, obedience, rally and conformation equipment for your use.
Open Gym Time: $15 per hour (1 hour minimum)
When you take any class from Greta's Gym, you can purchase 8 (eight) hours of Open Gym time for the price of 4 (four)! A $120 value for $60!
Use the time to practice what you've learned in class!

What is "Agility Fun Night"?
Weekly, we will rotate between a full agility course set up and having individual skill building stations. Bring your dog and for $10 you can run the course or work the skill building stations for as long as you choose! Bring your additional dogs for just $5 each!
What is "Obedience Fun Night"?
Weekly we will rotate between having a Rally Run-Thru, Obedience Run-Thru and Conformation Drop-In. Just $10 for you and your dog! Bring your additional dogs for just $5 each!
What is "Kids-n-K9s Klub "?
Are you and your dog looking for something FUN to do this summer? Check out Kids-n-K9s Klub offered by Greta’s Gym! This klub is for kids who have completed Grade 2 through 5 and is only $50!
It is a five-day program and will be offered two times: July 12-16 and August 2-6. We will meet from 9:00-11:00 AM each day.
Space is limited, so sign up early! Unfortunately, last year we had to turn people away!!
Kids-n-K9s Klub is for kids who are interested in dogs, dog training and dog sports. You will learn about dog care, dog behavior, how to teach simple commands, obstacle courses, games and tricks. There will be open discussion and question and answer opportunities at every session.
You do not need a dog in order to attend, but if you have one, bring it along! (Dogs will not be provided for participants who do not have a dog.

What is "Yappy Hour"?
A time for you and your dog to socialize in a safe, controlled environment. Your dog will love you for bringing them to Yappy Hour! Your furry friend will enjoy bowls of water and Greta's Baked Delights!

AGILITY CLASSES

This class is for dogs at least 12 weeks old (or for any dog that has not started any agility training). It will also be necessary for any dog/handler team wishing to go on to any of the other Agility classes at Greta’s Gym to complete this class or “test out” of this class in order to move on. Every dog/handler team must “successfully” acquire the skills taught in this class to “move on”.
The class will include some basic obedience skills that we feel are required to be successful on an agility course. This class is designed to aid you and your new agility teammate to build a strong working relationship! We will work on creating a strong play drive. You and your dog will be exposed to “operant conditioning”. To help aid your dog on focus training, we will play “crate games”. We will also introduce your dog to end contacts and agility groundwork.

We will cover all the basic commands such as sit, down, stay, come and walk on lead, as well as working on household manners and everyday good behavior. Each week we will have a different confidence builder to help the dogs learn trust and boost their self confidence. Commands are taught in a way that solidifies the behaviors so the dog can consistently achieve success. Building a solid foundation within this class will make future training easier between handler and dog.

Come see if your dog can be an AKC Good Citizen! Your dog must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Accepting a friendly stranger
- Sitting politely for petting
- Appearance and grooming
- Walking on a loose lead
- Walking through a crowd
- Sit and down on command and staying in place
- Coming when called
- Reaction to another dog
- Reaction to distraction
- Supervised separation
This is for both purebred and mixed-breed dogs. You do NOT have to take the CGC “Skill Builder” in order to take the test! All dogs passing this test will be listed in the Canine Good Citizen records at the American Kennel Club. Owners of the dogs passing all 10 items of the Canine Good Citizen Test may order an official "CGC Certificate" from the American Kennel Club!
