Many of you have asked why we require "no street shoes" on our Gym floor. Well, the answer is because we want to keep our costs for you to use our Gym as low as possible! We are very, very fortunate to have the very "best floor for dog training" at Greta's Gym. However, it is one of the most expensive items, and labor intensive to replace. The thing that will ruin the floor the quickest, is the "grease, sand, salt, grit" that is carried in off your shoes you wear in "right off the street". The floor is made of ground up tires---which makes it a bit porous. This means that if any of those items you carry in off the street get into those pores, eventually the floor will be destroyed. We realize that the "dogs" are allowed to simply "walk in", but that is because they can't remove their shoes. (We don't require it, but you will notice we have supplied in the entrance, clean towels for you to wipe your dog's feet, and ask you use them when necessary.) The shoes you carry in to "wear on the Gym floor" need only be dry, clean from any debris and not have any sharp cleats, etc. We greatly appreciate your help in keeping Greta's Gym clean! This will ultiimately keep your cost down to use the Gym! Thanks again for your cooperation!
